The payment path

One fee. One place.
Nothing hidden.

When a payment is wrapped, the payer locks funds to a hold invoice. openLN forwards the amount minus 1% to the merchant's wallet, then settles the hold. The fee accrues at this step and nowhere else — every transition recorded in an append-only ledger.

Non-custodial, mechanically
Accounts connect to their own wallets over NIP-47. openLN holds no keys and cannot move funds without the wallet's consent.

Ambiguity is never failure
Every payment outcome is an explicit state — settled, pending, or needs-reconciliation — resolved by cryptographic lookup, never by retry.

Every state transition of every payment is recorded. Nothing is mutable history.
